The Women's Seafarers Friend Society is pleased to welcome you to its new website, and we hope that you will find a joy in becoming part of our work.Each year, we hand-knit over 1,800 watch caps, sew over 1,800 ditty bags, and then we fill them with gifts for seafarers. It takes a lot of work, but the gift of a hand-knit hat touches the seafarer's heart because someone cared enough to spend the time and energy to do this for him or her (and yes, there are women seafarers!).
We hope that you will look over the seafarers mission which we have come to love, the New England Seafarers Mission. We have found them to be good stewards not only of earthly resources but also to be good stewards of The Word.

If you would like to be part of the Women's Seafarers Friend Society, just use the contact button on the left menu. It will put you in touch with one of our members who will respond within a week or so.We also invite women's groups from your church to become part of our mission. You needn't live in New England. Many churches have found that having the women of thier parish sit down with the young girls to teach them how to knit bridges the generations and promotes a healthy fellowship.
And don't forget, we like it when the men help out, too!
