Seafarer Resources: Boston

Boston is a wonderful city, and its subway system, known as "The T," makes getting around both easy and inexpensive. The subway closes at midnight, however, so be sure to be on your way home by 11:30pm.

The Cambridge Galleria shopping mall offers 3 floors of stores, a food court, a Best Buy, and a safe place to spend a few hours. It is best gotton to by taking the Green Line subway to the Lechmere station, just one block from the shopping mall. The Museum of Science is located next door and makes for a great afternoon of site-seeing.

There is no Wal-Mart store near Boston Harbor, but if you're at Citgo-Braintree, then there is a Wal-Mart within walking distance. Just walk to the street, turn right for 15-20 minutes, and then walk up the long driveway to the Wal-Mart store.

Mariner's House is the hotel just for seafarers, and it is very conveniently located near the US Coast Guard's Marine Safety Office where exams are held.
