NESM Volunteers at Christmas Party

On a cruise ship day in Boston, from a few hundred to over 1,000 seafarers may pour through the four floors of the Seafarers Center. Volunteer Staff from churches, families, and organizations as well as just plain individuals welcome and assist seafarers from all over the world. On a typical busy day, you may meet people from twelve or more countries. Each one of those individuals wants something, but what they need most is your kind and welcoming face with a smile and an open hand of friendship and fellowship.

Christians have a responsibility put on them through baptism and faith, and that responsibility requires that they directly or indirectly proclaim the Kingdom of God through service to those made in God's image. NESM is perhaps one of the few foreign missions which can get you home in time for supper and the next day's tasks.
